The Online Payment function in SISK12 and Parent Portal provides the Parent the convenience to deposit money in their student(s) school meal account. This convenience to the Parent will aid the school in collecting money to cover student meals and streamline the deposit into the student's SISK12 Meals account.
PayPal is used as the clearing agent for electronic payment transactions. The parent does not need to have a personal PayPal account if paying by credit or debit, but if the parent wishes to pay directly from their banking account using their account number and routing number, then they would need their own PayPal account.

At Long Elementary School, every student is taught to feel a sense of belonging, autonomy and caring for their community and each other, and character education has played a daily role in achieving this goal for the past six years. For these leadership efforts, Long was recently recognized as a 2009 National School of Character by the Character Education Partnership in Washington, DC.
Long is one of just seven schools nationwide to earn this prestigious distinction from the Character Education Partnership, which recognizes winning schools for demonstrating school transformation through low-cost, high-quality character education initiatives.

Truman Elementary School guidance Robbie Engel (left) and principal Megan Stryjewski attended the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards earlier this month.
The door to the counseling office at Truman Elementary School opens into the cafeteria, where 860 children settle in daily to eat lunch, converse, and say hi to their good friend and counselor Mrs. Robbie Engel.
“We eat lunch in here a lot,” Engel says, standing in her office. “The kids know we always have an open door, and a lot of them stop by to talk.”
Engel has been a counselor since 1995, and has taught fifth grade and special education, for a total of 31 years classroom experience. Recently, Engel received the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award, along with more than 100 St. Louis area educators, for her dedication and excellence in teaching.

Lindbergh Schools would like to thank all of our residents who voted for Proposition L in the Nov. 3 election. Prop L passed with 65.75 percent of the vote, and will help to secure financial security for the district in the years to come.
“Without Prop L, if our property tax rate ever should exceed $2.75, we would have had to give back approximately $2 million in funding,” said Pat Lanane, assistant superintendent for finance. “Thanks to our voters, Prop L will change that. It waives the rollback so the district will only be required to ask for what we really need. We’ll get to keep the entire amount we ask for to fund student programs, and our tax rate will stay low.”
Prop L prevents the loss of $2 million in future state funding for the district by waiving a decades-old property tax rollback. It will exempt Lindbergh from a state initiative passed in 1982 called Proposition C, which established a one-cent sales tax for educational spending. Prop L will allow the district to keep all the sales tax money sent to the district.
By asking voters to waive the property tax rollback, Lindbergh joins 431 districts in the state of Missouri – and 18 of 23 districts in St. Louis County – that have already done so.
"Prop L will allow more state dollars to stay in the district, at no cost to the taxpayers, and we are extremely thankful to our voters for supporting Lindbergh Schools once again,” Lanane said.
This year, 19 Sperreng Middle School fiddlers and their families drove to West Lafayette, Ind., to participate in the annual Feast of the Hunters’ Moon along with teacher Michelle Howard. The feast is a colonial reenactment at Fort Ouiatenon, and students performed wearing 1700’s attire.
The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Ind.
In the past week, Lindbergh Schools has been able to vaccinate more than 1,000 students for H1N1 at open clinics, and we now have a limited amount of injectable and FluMist H1N1 vaccines remaining. At this time, there are not enough doses remaining to hold a clinic, so we will begin vaccinating a small number of students during the school day.
If you are comfortable with your child being vaccinated at his or her school without your presence, please turn in the “Influenza A H1N1 Immunization Consent and History” form previously mailed to you. Additional copies of this form are available for pick up at the Lindbergh Administration Building, 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63126. We will collect consent forms on a first-come, first-serve basis to determine who will receive the vaccine at school.

Last night our Lindbergh Teachers met to vote on the tentative agreement which was drafted by our two negotiating teams.
I am very pleased to report that our teachers have endorsed a new agreement with their "YES" votes for Lindbergh Schools. Their vote was ratified by a 6-to-1 margin.
The next step to finalize this agreement will be for our Board of Education to vote and approve this document.
This 10-month process was one of the longest negotiation efforts that Lindbergh Schools has ever experienced. But in the long run, I am confident this collaboration of hard work and time spent has allowed us to create a working agreement that will serve our students, staff and community in the very best way possible.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have contributed to this cause.
Rick Francis
Assistant Superintendent for Personnel
